With a level of constancy few labels can match, Phonetic drop another clubbing essential in the shape of this strong remake of the Plez classic.
The original first surfaced on Focus in the early ’90s, and while the artist name might not ring true once you hear the distinctive vocal the penny will definitely drop. An anthem back in the day with Sasha at Shelly’s and Graeme Park at the Hacienda, the vocal is now rebuilt around an energised house beat that rides percolating percussion atop a twisted synth soundscape. Less commercial then Phonetic’s recent Buzz topper from Braund Reynolds, this will nonetheless still will find itself in pole position on most DJs wants lists in the coming weeks.
