Forgive me for grinching but there is quite the rash of tracks around using the same Nikita Warren piano sound that Doorly and Shadowchild used in their ‘Piano Weapon’ at the moment. Anyway – grump aside (and Armand Van Helden ‘Professional Widow’ build too), Hannah Wants’ other half in the production stakes, Chris Lorenzo creates a banging official union with one of our favourite Scots, Chris Lake. It’s a four minute twenty five second rippling beat opus that soars and whooshes but holds down the tempo, using the keys and the Armand Van Helden-esque beat builds and rave snares to push it into the strobelights. The bass line groove is slick indeed and the cut up vocals have a quirky sense of humour that lifts it all beautifully. Nice.
