Citizen teams up with Joe Ashworth for his return to Waze & Odyssey’s sister label on what is an explosive production that ignites big-time Tribal flavours alongside smouldering vocals. But that’s not all as rough and tough drums, moody bass plus deceptively uplifting synths send Shona Carmen’s rousing vocals sky high. The equally good ‘LDN Warehouse Dub’ procededs with a touch of nostalgia fitting the bill perfectly with smiling piano chords and mood enhancing attitude in excess. Final track, ‘State’ ends with more fevered vocals and classic drum machines sounding every bit as good as back then, accompanied by tension building keys leaving you breathless.
