Laurence Blake slips comfortably into his Citizenn skin with its DNA strand made up of detroit house helixes and a cellular division and multiplication process that engenders a beautiful bouncing piece of future tech house. Hercules and Love Affair get abstract and left field with dark, dissonant curve balls bouncing all over the place. The Warehouse Dub vocal is a tearing, unst unst unst unst, tsk tsk tsk tsk, total black-out, techno stomper whilst Syf’s plaintive vocals are snipped loose like neon ribbons and left furling and unfurling in the dense, foggy arrangement. All praise and thanks to Laurence Blake and Ralph Lawson’s 2020 Vision – it’s worth it for this mix alone. Get it if – and when you can.
