Cubicolor ‘Down The Wall’ EP (Anjunadeep)

This four tracker on the ever surprising Anjunadeep is a classic football cliche; a tale of two halves. Both ‘Down the Wall’ and ‘Cage of Lovwe’ are well produced and by no means bad, they just don’t have the immediate appeal the other two offerings do, so it’s our advice to head straight for them.

‘Clime’ seems pretty nondescript till an absolute monster of a synth line kicks in, mournful to the point where you can imagine it soundtracking an extra terrestrial wake. Then ‘Musicians’ has an Asian vibe, a vocal discussing hallucinogens and a sophisticated swagger which ensures a modern and slower twist on the classic Goa sound.
