David Marston plays the sort of Soul music you want to Dance to. Sitting comfortably on Soul Clap cements the deal as the EP’s opening gambit with Dan Izco, ‘Giving Up On You’ features breezy, sultry vocals by Brigitte Zozula amid smouldering jazzy Trumpets and pulsating electronics for starters. Next is, ‘Sun’ which features vocalist Anna Spackman and perkier beats, while the collaboration with Jordan Rosenberg & Aubrey Nolan ‘True’ delivers a heavier production this time with the voice of Beth Aggett. Finally ‘Sometimes It’s Hard’ has Brigitte Zozula again deliver smoky vocals over provocative slow-mo rhythms to round off this intriguing, beguiling and impressively musical release.
