Denmark’s DJ Noir is Decaff, and this time round he’s drafted in house supremo Roland Clark, to deliver some of his distinctive vocals. ‘Helpless’ rides on driving percussive rhythms with D Train styled key stabs & spiralling effects, creating a new take on the old school, leading to Rolandâs conscious lyrics, ‘And you say to yourself, life why have you forsaken me ‘And when you look out of your window all you see is Mr Jones, driving down that street again, while you’re living in your one room shack, contemplating fast forward, stop, rewind, everything you ever wanted right outside your door, but you don’t go outside no more’. ‘Helpless’ is a new take on the back in the day house sermon, & it wouldn’t surprise me if one of the big guns picks it up & repackages it with a bumper triple pack of mixes. This one could go all the way.
