Sometimes you may wonder just how Defected have managed to retain their reputation for classy, occasionally classic Dance music over the past number of decades now. A question which I guess answers itself when you listen to the likes of this latest mix from DJ T. and Luke Solomon. The music remains on the pulse and for me sets its own agenda that doesn’t shy away from a sense of musicality, while also hitting hard where needed. The Gets Physical co-founder kicks off in deep style and then lifts his mix with moody basslines and fizzy electronics that include numbers from Paolo Rocco, Eddie Fowlkes and completes with Osunlade’s emotionally driven ‘Envision’. The latter then proceeds to blend his own unique take on twisted Disco-Tech with tracks coming via Catz ‘N Dogz, Martinez and respectively from DJ T. All in all the label provides yet another enjoyable journey through the sights and sounds of House Music in 2015.
