Delphic are a band to keep an eye on, make no mistake – their combination of spacey synthesizers, softly uplifting vocals and authoritative beats works really well. While ‘This Momentary’ might not have the same impact as the outstanding previous single ‘Counterpoint’, it’s more of a grower – so that by the time you’ve heard it on several occasions, the “Let’s do something real” hook will be well and truly ingrained. In truth there’s not a lot the remixers need to do, but all four – Parallels, Golden Bug, Radioproof and Le Matos – bring a bit more to the table, whether it’s beefed up beats (Golden Bug and the Oakenfold-esque Le Matos), bigger basslines (Parallels) or whooshy textures (Radioproof). The vocal does it all the way through though, understated yet effective – and it gives one more reason to snap up the band’s debut album as soon as it drops.
