DJ Linus – KB’s Groove – (Initials)

This re-release of Compose Records ‘K.B’s Groove’ from 1997 sounds every bit as good now as it did way back then. But perhaps even more notable is just how well it fits in today’s ideas and sounds, which is undoubtedly down the intense combination of simmering keys and technological basslines placing themselves somewhere between Europe and Detroit. Remixes come from Kris Wadsworth who reconstructs the vocal into something altogether more haunting with unsettling electronics developing into an otherworldly funkiness. And from The Analogue Cops Remix Two who place thunderous kick drums against their choice of sinister voices and severe keys to again provoke your reaction.
