DOUBTINGTHOMAS – THE CHANGES EP (CATCH RECORDINGS)

Catch Recordings is a label that always offers up interesting and off the beaten track home sounds, and this new EP is no different. It comes from Aurélien Rivière who has released on the label before, and he is also in with the likes of Metroline, Amam and Organic-Music. Here he serves up four more tracks that feature some cool guests spots, and each one is standout.

Aurelio Buen Dia is first up and is a lush and jazzy deep house number with steamy vocals, trilling bird calls and exquisite melodies that really get under your skin. Low.fi Osaka feat Odd Soul comes next and is a much more abstract affair where scuttling voices and frazzled little synths make for a weird atmosphere. It is experimental and exciting and is another fine offering from the label. White Post Lane feat Santiago Posada is another occult track that sounds like little else, with swinging drums and great intricate sound design that is cerebral and standout. Finally, The Changes is a woozy and romantic late night house number with drifting piano chords and rolling rubber drums.
