Initially appearing last month on Fools Gold, ‘Anyway’ now gets a UK release, its Radio Edit ramming home just what a titanic slice of New York-style disco whoopee this is. Served in Van Helden’s inimitable, roof-raising style with new partner-in-crime A-Trak obviously a kindred spirit, the vocal hook is volcanic while the groove sets the roof on fire. The original CD’s other track, ‘You’re Nasty’, showed this wasn’t just a one-off either being, if anything, even more packed with mayhem elements. Ten years ago this would have been another AVH disco monster but in these shallow, cluttered times, it returns like a roaring breath of air.
