Somewhere between Todd Edwards, Underground Resistance and Todd Terje resides Duoswing, the alter ego of Austrian, Stephan Hoellermann. Citing influences as varied as Larry Levan and Patrick Adams through Stacy Kidd and Terrence Parker, and the Wu Tang Clan and DJ Premier. The six mixes on this EP also reflect his eclectic style, with disco-etched grooves supplied by DJ Romain, deep late-’90s house courtesy of Spiritual Blessings, and bar grooves from QuestionmarQ. The instrumentation is slick, smooth and soulful with a tech-twist of crystalline electronica that ploughs an eccentric furrow with considerable style.
