Dusky returns to 17 Steps with ‘Lydia’ a buxom triple tracker to keep our winter bodies warm through the long winter nights. ‘Lydia’ itself, slinks and skulks: the 303 acidics burble away as the arrangement rolls and stretches out before our eyes. Add some ethereal synth washes and a funky groove and you have a seriously dark backroom blazer. ‘Bitter Lake’ hits the keys for an old skool techno rave up. Think Relief Records meets Red Three and you‘ll get the picture. ‘Infinite Libido’ sneaks some romantic, sustained strings and warm pads under a sprawling, satin duvet where all manner of percussive shenanigans add to the general goings on. It’s provocative.
