Roll up, roll up, here’s Purple Disco Machine with their unexpectedly pumping and progressive synth-centric rewiring of Faithless 2.0’s ‘Miss U Less’. From the outset, it powers ahead like a Japanese bullet train through a towering 22nd century cityscape and it is relentless to the end. The vocal version is high speed indeed but slows as if in Matrix bullet time to allow Maxxy’s smoky spoken vocal to swirl through the chugging progressive instrumental like a tell-tale smoking barrel. The breakdown to the vocal chorus is an open invitation to sing along before the synth pad euphoria raises those hands and spirits in happy hand-clappy support. All good stuff.
