There are times when nothing but a bit of intricate yet laconic, laidback techno will do and when those times hit, you better make sure you have a copy of False Image’s ‘Second horizon’ EP in your arsenal. ‘Second Horizon’ is a percussive treat with sticky sweet strings that melt like caramel then harden like peanut brittle whilst the tempo is driven by happy hi hats and sharp, sunray snares. Deon’t be deceived by the groove. ‘Moon Ray’ bewitches you with its lengthened minor chord shadows, synth swells and puddle jumping snares. The curious tale of the interplay of the keys just after the halfway mark adds another twist to this twilight zone dimension. Good mood change tracks both that will flip your set like a pancake.
