In its original skin, ‘Changes’ is a piano soaked, children’s choir voiced, saxophone-powered, punter harpoon. It has always been a solid dancefloor bet but now with remixes from Bontan, Marlon Hoffstadt and HRRSN, Robin Schulz, Tocadisco, and Stefan Dabruck, the deep / peak time house glitterati set to work on its underground metamorphosis.
Bontan drops the key, then takes it to the sweatboxes, trilling that sax and switching off the AC for a humping, fluffy towels and fresh t-shirts reworking. Marlon Hoffstadt ups the tempo for a stripped down, minimal tech rewiring that sounds like a runaway steam train replete with pumping pistons and hissing steam. Tocadisco delivers a whooshy percussive minimal tech house mix that should keep the summer terraces jumping. And finally Stefan Dabruck goes for the main floor peak time jugular with a solar plexus jabbing workout that uses the looped vocal to maximum effect. It was always a hit but now it’s just that little bit bigger.
