FCL’s ‘It’s You’ was a favourite of mine land a staple of my Ibiza parties last year. Happily the year in the life cycle of this truly great record that could so easily have fallen squarely in that Venn Diagram intersection between ‘remembered fondly’ and ‘will it ever go away’ has been kind, and you can kiss your deep suspicions of further plays goodbye with Defected’s rather smashing remix selection. Gotsome have turned up the heat with a hissing, steamy roll in a dark garage sauna. Hercules & Love Affair have buffed it up to a high sheen with a bouncy, guitar led groove that could make sand dancing into a global Olympic accredited sport. Mousse T’s Discotronic excursion is a foray into all that is funky, groovy and sequin sparkly. It’s a heat seeking package of mixes that are all worthy of play at different times of the night. Sizzling.
