There’s something about records from the mighty Salsoul catalogue that translate so well to contemporary dance floor smashes – ‘Salsoul Nugget’, ‘Groovejet’ and ‘Lola’s Theme’ all owe a huge debt to the organically nurtured disco loops created by the 40-piece Salsoul Orchestra. The latest to raid the vaults and come up smelling of a hit is Gary Caos who takes the chorus and amazing string and horns arrangements from Double Exposure’s optimistic love song and morphs them into an amazing contemporary disco-house filtering gem. Add an even chunkier Lazy Rich creation that’s cut from the same cloth as Duck Sauce, and a piano-driven version from Heartnik and this package has everything you’ll need to light up Ibiza.
