It’s 20 years since Steve Hurley’s ‘Jack Your Body’ propelled the new acid house sound to the top of the UK pop charts so Jesse Rose and Jamie Anderson have got together for an affectionate – and quite deadly – rework, making their Gigolo debut in the process. Retaining the vocal hook, they strip down to proper acid bassline with suitable old school drum programming. Bare and propulsive, it’s got that proper acid house vibe but injected with 21st century electro attitude which is tweaked up on the dub. Great stuff, which effectively mines the essence of what got this whole ball rolling.
