Dark spoken-word gear that offers a respectful nod to the old warehouse grooves with it’s bleepy synths and vaguely nostalgic narrative. Solid bass and drum programming ensures those the bodies keep in motion, and it builds a real intensity as it progresses. If that’s a touch languid and late night for you, Ian Carey is on hand to provide a more full-on variant that layers big dramatic chords and techno drums to maximum crowd pleasing effect. Not quite as subtle as the original Pokerface mix, but it works.
