Veteran New Zealand DJ Greg Churchill has certainly earned his house trousers and made his mark by releasing tunes on Underwater and Gung-Ho!, remixing for Azuli, Data and Toolroom and compiling the first of the It’s Only A Mixtape series for Ministry Of Sound. ‘Mulcha’ is a propulsive, twisted epic splattered with nasty corrugated scrotum efx, electro riffage and blessed with an insane drop. Russia’s Anton Neumark and Alex Camel whittle down to more minimal ingredients with a squirt of breaksy darkness while Yuhei Kubo lets fly with some bleeps and bloops in his solid techno-tinged workout. Shorts-hoisting stuff.
