I make no secret of the fact that I pooh-poohed the idea of a collaboration between Guy Gerber and Puff Daddy : the first outing flew over my head like an Ibiza winter flight. Now you see it … And yet as jaded as I am with these endless, pointless for anything other than being marketing money spinning ploys ahem creative collaborations between artists big enough to know – and do – better, Jamie Jones has done gone and made me swallow my tongue. Get ready for a ‘Fear and Loathing’ aural road trip with atmospherics on overload, vocals weirded and tripped out and a bassline that puffs narcotic smoke out of every orifice. As for that moment when the low vocal sneaks up on you and koshes you from behind ? – just be warned. You’ll love it just like I do. Single of the week.
