Anthem alert! Hercules & Love Affair are thee New York collective at the moment, and their forthcoming self titled debut album is preceded by the camp magic of ‘Blind’. Anthony of Anthony & The Johnsons fame takes the lead with his distinctive vocal, which works a treat over classic disco rhythms with an edge. Think Soft Cell meets Bobby O meets Giorgio Moroder and you¹re heading in the right direction. ‘Blind’ is set to be a huge hit and a future holiday resorts, office parties and weddings favourite. Frankie Knuckles is up first at the mixing desk, removing the grit of the original, and adding lush key pads and polished piano. Meanwhile Serge Santiago strips it back, and injects ‘Blind’ with a set of pulsing tribal rhythms and sound blasts Danny Tenaglia style. Watch this fly, the first proper roof raiser in ages.
