Hotspot and Komaroff deal in deep, dark tech house sounds that tantalise and tease the senses. ‘Raw’ is an undulating wave of ‘yeah-ness’, with stingy, snippish hi-hats, reverbed vocal decoration. ‘Senses’ feels like early Digweed / Cattaneo / Bedrock with a bit of Tenaglia and Peace Division thrown in – it’s a little bit prog opera, a little bit dark and seedy, a little bit sprawling and a lot of cool. If ony I could get the image of tops off-tits out Tom of Finland pantless, jackbooted ravers out of my head. It’s what speaker stacks and lava lamps were made for.
