The Dublin duo’s follow-up to last summer’s glorious ‘Winters In The City’ comes as a bit of a surprise by steaming into euphoric cut-up filtered disco territory in the mode of prime Daft Punk. The tune started life about four years ago in cahoots with Chicago mates Automatic & Silk [Josh Barnes and Justen Parris]. After much passing between the two camps, it’s emerged with a mix by each. The way Hystereo’s Conor Murphy and Jack Byrne perform open heart surgery on the P-Funk-derived disco choir can only be described as acrobatic. There’s no let-up once the plateau of whoopee is quickly established and somewhere like Miami is going to erupt. The Automatic & Silk version comes with similar impact but different cut ups. A lovely bonus is the cool disco-boogie vamp of ‘IPO’ and its funky piano. Big stuff indeed.
