Jade Blue & Frequency – Lately – (Black Butter Records)
DMC World Magazine
Fresh out of the packet for 2014 comes Jade Blue & Frequency – newcomers to the Black Butter roster. There are no genre boxes that it will comfortably sit in since it nonchalantly mashes jacking and vocal house, garage, grime, super helium time stretched vocals a bit of peak time progressive yet works beautifully. The instrumental works the swells, foaming white noise breakdowns and reversed rolls much harder and is just as delicious. It’s a monster and you’ll hear it a lot – no question. ‘Moving Away’ drops the tempo for a cumulous, gossamery, Beloved-reminiscent vocal trip down summery memory lanes. Enjoy the propulsive aural effect of driving in a vintage 50’s convertible with your friends, all are laughing and there’s a picnic basket overflowing between them in. Good times and beautiful music in an impressive, compelling package.
