The second stunning record it is my pleasure to review week is this from Jäfar. Which is a positive feast of hot drumming funky and dirty – which is also where the sleazy vocal line comes into play too. Again this comes in the shape of the one mix and again sits within its own time frame. You could say it references James Brown styled breaks along with eighties Hip Hop attitude, and you’d be right. However, in the end ‘Marszia’ is both playful and dangerous looping its tempting groove across some nine plus minutes of sheer intensity. As an added bonus the record comes with an engravement of artwork on its B side via Louise Ernandez.
