The mighty Derrick Carter has cited Honey Dijon from Chicago [now based in NYC] as his favourite DJ while others have compared her Digital Disco label to the much-missed Classic, her inspiration. This is the fourth release, featuring Australia’s Jeremy Joshua and Harry Bandhu with a cool, guitar-laced slice of vocal house [sung by the former] which they then mix into a sublime early 90s NY-style disco kneesup with lush organ chords. Unsurprisingly, Luke Solomon is around, contributing a dark, crawling bumpathon littered with radioactive slugs and masturbating gerbils. Honey’s own Give Me Good Head Remix is cool and sexy with that early 90s flavour again but her own vocal touches and jazz flavours taking it into a different sauna altogether. Watch out for this label, true house heads, it’s hot!
