Every once in a while, sometimes in a long time, a record arrives to blow off the dust. And the sizzling, supreme Disco of this EP’s title track, ‘English Rose’ does just that. It doesn’t matter the countless times I’ve already played this because those timeless syncopated bass notes played hotly alongside its commanding chorus of voices and shuffling rhythms can only spell out one thing, Happiness. Conversely, ‘Solitude’ joins warmer deep, tech vibes together to also pack an emotional punch, as indeed does ‘Drakkar Noir’ which opts for sublime, melancholy 90’s references to echo out across the ether completing another first rate release from Jimpster.
