JP Soul – Gone Is The Time (Roam Recordings)

JP Soul is a producer from San Fran who has a a healthy catalogue chock full of hits. Now he serves up three more on the Roam Recordings label that are future facing, tough and delicious. He is the boss of this label of course, and as such really excels here.

Gone Is The Time goes first and is a space age tech cut with spraying synths and a tough bassline riff. It is sure to make people sweat the moment it gets dropped. Work The Kinks is a more sleepy number, with militant snares and curious lead synth line. It is pure marching much made for real dance floors. Morning Shivers then drops the tempo to get spooky and weird. It makes for a deep and moody cut that is layered, sensuous and expertly produced for maximum impact. Overall then this is a great EP with lots of fresh ideas.
