Sometimes it takes a record like this to wake you up to what’s good about music. And what very clearly good here is the Soul in this Kerri Chandler production. Though that’s not forgetting the other vital element to this recording, Monique Bingham who’s sultry tones combine with Kerri’s spoken words like they were a match made somewhere in heaven. Mercifully this avoids any nursery rhyming and delivers a lyric best understood by adults backed up by a brutal Kick drum, swirling keys and quality bass. Plus with plenty of variety to the number of mixes available this should satisfy even the most jaded soul.
