Danny and Kieran Clancy aka krankbrother have been busy via their various successful exterior projects of late but in this case it’s very much a case of the music that’s counting. This excellent selection of tasty musical nuggets doesn’t come much hotter than the opening syncopation from Arto Mwambe’s ‘Hum Along’ (Move D’s Move Along Remix). Although strictly speaking that’s not quite true as the selection proceeds to traverse all that’s good right now with Tech colliding against funkier grooves in a never ending succession of great music. Artists include everyone from Mr.G though to John Tejada, while also featuring their own hot bass pumping production, ‘Together’ plus DJ Harvey’s irresistible ‘Locussolus’ in the process. Spread out across two discs other standouts are B.W.H. cosmic gem ‘Stop’ and Jaime Read’s shimmering ‘Pleasure Principle’. The conclusion however to all of this is by Space ‘Carry On, Turn Me On’ a suitably sassy Disco number from 1977 which leaves it all making perfect sense.
