LAWRENCE
THE NIGHT WILL LAST FOREVER
NOVAMUTE

The album for which this gem is the title track still stands as an understated summer monster of the deepest house persuasion. Now it’s dreamy pulse is rightfully showcased as a single. Flowing, organic and bottomless with wafting bells adding to the atmosphere, the two American remixes take it somewhere else. California’s John Tejada toughens up with muted acid, while retaining the breathy sounds but concentrating on the simple, ultra-hypnotic groove stretches. Seattle’s Jeff ‘Lucine’ McIlwain takesit even more subterranean, abstract levels. There’s also a bonus new track with ‘Happy Sometimes’, whose ethereal textures again recall the golden age of Strictly/Nu-Groove. Soothing and soul-enveloping stuff.
