An exceptional production. Have to say I love this. ‘Stand Up Right’ hits all the right buttons almost in sequence with its taught bass and sprinkling of jazzy keys lending all that electronic intensity a somewhat soulful air – perhaps despite of itself. And as the arrangement progresses additional moody pads and then yearning, melancholy synths provide an ethereal focus for this pushing, probing at the edges release. In contrast are the warmer, deeper vibes of ‘No Wicked For The Rest’ which combines funkier percussion amid temptingly breathy vocals to grab hold off while the keyboards soar.
