Mat.Joe – Swipe The Card EP – (Mother Recordings)

Mat.Joe are a Berlin based duo that know how to cook up hot club tracks. They have done so on a wide range of labels such as Hot Creations and Alive amongst many others and now do so once more. This time they find themselves on the Mother Recordings label in fine form across two fun, playful party tunes on their Swipe The Card EP.

And it is that title track that goes first. It is a track that slowly creeps up on you with its tough kicks, lively percussive glints and firing vocal stabs. Full of tension and masterfully built for big suspense and maximum impact, it really is a great way to kick off this EP and a great tool for DJs to energise their dance floors with. On the flip is a cheeky track that makes great use of a classic vocal refrain taken from the song’s title. It is placed with big horns, jumbled DIY percussion and nice grooves that really make you want to get loose. Not too serious, well produced and full of charm, these two tracks are the latest in a long line of successes for this label and production pair.
