Moby – The Last Day – (Little Idiot)

Moby, that Purveyor of the finest electronica, from techno to trip hop, returns with ‘The Last Day’ a gloriously anthemic, downtempo vocal seduction that blissfully sets you adrift on gentle waves of sonic goodness. The Moby May 14th mix is a multi-layered, string-laden opus that lets the vocalist’s silken tones pull you in close enough to feel her breath on the tiny hairs on the nape of your neck. David Mayer’s remix is a stripped down, ticklish, abstract jazz-tek take with stacked and whispered vocals, reverbed cellos and double bass strings vibrating loosely and atmospherics that amp up the suspense massively. Coyu & Ramiro Lopez predict a rolling, percussive Armageddon whilst Chymera’s remix submerges you in the clear, orchestrated waters of a trip hop tantalus that’s perfect for beach / poolside / sunset sessions and compilations. One for the bucket list.
