Further confirmation that Moody B’s new label is absolutely on top of its game when it embarks on its deadly celebrations of Chicago house and Detroit techno; nothing so new in that ethos but it’s the way he tells ’em, unleashing killer snare patterns, flatulent 303 whoopee and old school riffage. The original injects spacey sci-fi sounds into its pulsating rectum resulting in a multi-layered acid house symphony, while the Weird & Wonderful Mix whirs and chomps with vocal chants. The Vintage Acid Mix speaks for itself, bringing in the Phuture voice for extra Trax-homaging effect. This is not a Clash cover, just an exercise in recapturing the sort of vibe which eludes so many.
