Don’t think I quite got what a breathtaking piece of music this is until I played it for the second time round. It’s House but certainly not in the conventional sense of the word. Perhaps the words: Dance with the soulful, funky musical twist would be more apt to describe the multi -textural, ‘Tarriff?’ Either way of course this surpasses the descriptions with its sassy, rhythmic hi-hats driving it forward ably assisted by pulsating synth notes and luscious piano chords. Moodymanc then proceeds to inject energy into the following, ‘Minor Madness’ with straight up House beats and challenging organ all feeling refreshing. The Next two tracks along with Lenny Middles produce the darker, acid inflected, ‘Mirror’ and the brighter, lively sounding, ‘Entertainer’. A killer first release from Danny Ward’s brand new imprint.
