The original, Southern Moon, is a tripped out, colourful bit of big bottom disco that it is impossible not to love for the way it bobs and bounces, dart and dances about. The vocal is what really set it off, delivered in airy, sunny tones and with soul as it is. Those on remix duty are also a fine selection of contemporary talents including HNNY. His version is a playful cut job that layers samples on top of samples and sounds like something Scratch Perverts would create on the fly. As well as an extended edit, there are also two versions from Darius Syrossian – the first is a powerhouse remix with reversed stabs, slinky garage percussion and tons of beef, all topped off with that killer vocal line. A dub version closes out what is a thoroughly enjoyable package.
