Munk
La Musica
Gomma

With a bassline sounding like a lost Francois Kevorkian dub from his early ’80s Prelude past, Munk deliver an essential nu-disco offering made with one foot firmly rooted in the past and one in the here-and-now. Like Munk’s James Murphy collaboration ‘Kick Out Chairs’ from 2004, this is another equally essential indie disco hymn that fuses elements of Italo house (especially on Shir Khan’s stripped and lean mix) and Windy City house a la Inner City ‘Big Fun’ from the in demand Audiojack team. But it’s Tiago’s orgasmic soundscape of vintage Moroder-rhythms and dreamy electronica that’s simply sumptuous. This preamble to the act’s upcoming, and by all accounts more psychedelic-house sounding 5-track EP due in September, is one hell of a mouth-watering appetiser.
