Can’t think of a better record playing the rounds at the moment which captures the true essence of Chicago inspired House Music, which for obvious reasons has never really faded into the ether. You could argue that this is a retrospective replaying of the past or perhaps much more simply that it’s just a good track, period. If like me all those sounds are timeless provoking halcyon days then you’ll lean towards the latter category. Classic drum and bass machines are both employed to deliver all the necessary deep pump and drive, accompanied by the welcome addiction of a human vocal line to lose yourself in. Conversely, ‘Like A Dream In The Night’ enters darker territory with moodier synths and intense hi-hats feeling atmospheric over contemporary drums to provide a great compliment to the title track.
