Lifted from last years “Peng Peng” long player release, this presents two tracks in remixed form. First, it’s “Best Friend”, retouched by the golden production fingers of Charles Webster. The vocal version stretches the electronic groove out to infinity and beyond, achingly beautiful strings tickling your ears underneath the restrained song, allowing various musical elements to find their own space. Best of all, none of it detracts from the pulling power of that irresistible groove. There’s also a dub that toughens the proceedings slightly and adds a techier punch to the dynamics for those late night maneuvers. “Sao Verought” gets toughed up in a moody, electronic manner by Germany’s Marcus Worgull, prime dancing vibes with some amazingly dark sounds going on. Terrific stuff.
