Ost & Kjex are a duo who have a long relationship with Dynamic. They have released a number of EPS and LPs on the outlet run from Hamburg by Solomun, and now they return to get remixed by some top stars. Their latest Freedom Wig EP is the release getting the new treatment and plenty of top names are the ones dishing out the delicious beats.
Up first, Keinemusik label founder and Berlin talent Rampa tackles Down River and does so by making it into a smooth and seductive deep house number with pattering toms and moody synths. The big boss man Solomun then steps up with a version of Queen of Europe. It is a track that is riddled with boarding bass and sweeping synths and will elevate any dance floor to the next level. Then it is Ki Records label boss Christian Loffler that remixes Down River and does so with his usual chill and autumnal, organic take on house music. Last but not least Johannes Brecht comes correct with his magically acoustic version of Heart of Gold. Closing out a fine package in style, it might just be the best track of the lot.
