With Classic sadly gone, Junior Boys Own is back flying the flag for the purest form of house music – meaning butt-shaking bliss in the groove department but also insisting that the sounds are fresh and startling. Outsider – a collaboration between Dylan Rhymes and Justin Drake – have been here before on JBO offshoot Jus’ Trax [sometime in the 90s!]. Now they’re back with a strutting boogie with a touch of Prince in its clipped funk and drive. This is, in turn, grasped by Chicago’s No Assembly Firm – Dan X and Justin Long – and turned into a huge chomping house beast on heat with extra bass, strings and wobbly riffs. The whole affair oozes classic dancefloor delirium delivered with deadly simplicity. A JBO monster which is asking for trouble.
