We get going with the title track. A refined and solid house cut, it’s the sort of sweaty weapon that will make most sense during the course of the night’s peak-time hours. Catchy and hypnotic, there’s enough old school flavour in here to think it might have been released twenty years ago. The laughing sample evokes comparisons with Josh Wink’s ‘Don’t Laugh’, but this is a fun track that’s very much its own beast.
The first of the remixes come from Julius Papp, who brings the track towards a darker and less familiar place. We then sit through two other remixes, the best of which arrives courtesy of Thallulah and William Medagil, who join forces here with Jose Maria Ramon. Cleverly, they hold on to the melodic flourishes, and although we thought it might be, there’s no ’too many cooks’ issues on this one. After this we finish with DJ Vox’s filter remix, which does exactly what it says on the tin. We’re really digging this record: well done Pablo & co.
