There are few labels better than Monza Ibiza Records. It is a top outlet that serves up the sort of goods that both DJs and dancers love. Here they impress once more with a bulky EP featuring no fewer than 6 great cuts. There are two originals and four remixes that in all add up to one fine package. The original artist is a UK star Pete Dorling and on the reworks are ItaloBros, Carlos Pulido and Dr Alfred as well as Romeo D’arret & Javier Gonzalez.
It is hard to pick a favourite here but for me the New York styled, classically inclined and skippy house rework of Vilnius by ItaloBros might be it. It is a fine tune that will get any club moving. Elsewhere there is lots of love, from the big and emotive sound championed by Pete on his opening cut, and the title track, to his second original offering, Shonka. This one is is dark and more energetic with big bold bass carrying you along. There is then a remix of this one from Dr Alfred that is stern and tech house in style, with crisp hits and slick drums forcing you to shake your limbs. The remixes of Vilnius are just as good, and range from teary eyed and emotive to more physical and driven. In all, a top EP that more than delivers.
