The Extravaganza label has been turning out compelling club music for a while now, but here they introduce a new name to the ranks in the form of Phill, an acclaimed producer and esteemed resident DJ at the LIQVID party in Livorno who here shows his hand in fine style across two originals, whilst Christian Nielsen gets busy on the remix. Opener Displaced is a richly melodic, deep house track that ripples with great synths and chords and has grubby bass underpinning it all. A carefully treated vocal adds a dreamy element and it really is a rich track. The remix comes from busy Scandinavian man Christian Nielsen from Play it Down, who takes the track in a much darker, deeper, dirtier direction with his ace bassline. Instant Crush is the other original and is a more spangled and loose house affair with spraying bass, wild colourful melodies and a tight sense of groove that all gets finished with reflective vocals up top. As such this is a fine EP from a fine new name.
