Ramon Tapia – ‘Split Second EP’ – (My Favourite Freaks)

Ramon Tapia is a guarantor for hot nights, even when it might be cold outside! And that is what he made for My Favourite Freaks Music with the name Split Second EP. A dark techno EP appropriate to the cold season.

The title track Split Second starts with housy beatloops and high strings, which gets the right groove with the rolling main theme, a constantly moving and filtered rave bass pad. He build up the beat in combination with vocal stabs, until – oh yes! up to the climax! You can’t escape the sound!

MFF label don M.in collaborates with Franz Alice Stern to come up with a 909 driven mix with a great hands up moments because of a raw bassline and a great synth melody.

Ramons second track ‘Warehouse’ is a bit more Techno infused. The remarkable break down cuts the main groove and brings everything down to level zero, but with ecstatic drum rolls he pushes the track to another explosion.

Finally, Wehbba exchanges the beats with his own typical and shuffling groove. What we get to drop is a more Detroit-like tune that doesn’t fail to impress at all. Verdict: Huge Techno EP, a must have for any serious fan of the genre.
