This made my ears stick up, my nose go pert and my tail wag like a helicopter rotor blade. Why? I like my music wonky with a twist of dark and a shake of suspense sprinkled on top and ‘Need Your Love’ ticks all those boxes and more. It’s all about the interplay of the serrated soul, high pitched vocal loop and imposing lead and vibrating sub bassline in my books – but I’m sure you’ll find your own favourite bits. No you will. Those bits are all mine. The Curses remix takes you from the foundry to the chain gang and is built and stacked for Tenaglia / Vasquez sized rooms whilst Digitalism give it a stiff leathers and studs, soaring synths with heavy over-grunging work over that should have the nu-electro headbangerz in raptures. Bravo to Riton – it’s an excellent package and my single of the week.
